Uncertain States
Inge Deutschkron
My Life after Survival
In her work as a journalist, Holocaust survivor Inge Deutschkron (born 1922) is firmly committed to critically examining and assessing German postwar society. In 1958, after years in England and travels to India, Burma, and Nepal, she began working for the Israeli newspaper Maariv, initially as a correspondent in Bonn and later in Tel Aviv, where she moved in 1972. To mark the opening of her archive, she will be discussing this period of her life with André Schmitz, former Secretary for Cultural Affairs in Berlin.
